Welcome!
We invite you to explore our website, and get involved in our ministry of sharing God's love! Through gifts of hand-crafted items to newborns and their families, we provide comfort during a difficult time. We are always looking for new volunteers to help us in our efforts!
Our Mission:
The
ministry is about healing and binding hearts together of familes
at a time of uncertainty about their baby's health or when they
lose an infant. Our mission is to show parents the love of
Christ at a time when their personal pain is hard to endure and
to let them know that God is faithful.

Who We Are:
Our
volunteers are not just bank employees or church members, but
are a diverse group of people from all across the Charlotte
area. We are a true community effort, with a common
focus of sharing our talents and love with those in need.

What We Do:
We
are a ministry that provides a variety of hand-crafted items to
newborns who, due to illness or pre-maturity, are unable to go
home soon after birth, or to families who have experienced
infant death due to illness, stillbirth, or miscarriage.

Our History
The
Local Charlotte Chapter of Threads of Love was chartered in May of 2004,
organized by a group of employees at Bank of America's corporate headquarters
through the company's 'Team Bank of America' Volunteer network. Since then, our
chapter has been sponsored by the outreach ministry of Family of Faith Lutheran
Church (ELCA) in Concord, NC. However our volunteers are not just bank
employees or church members, but are a diverse group of people from all across
the Charlotte area. We are a true community effort, with a common focus of
sharing our talents and love with those in need.
We provide clothing, blankets and other handmade articles for tiny premature and
sick infants, as well as bereavement items to those families grieving an infant
death. Currently we deliver
items to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, Presbyterian-Main,
CMC-Northeast in Concord, and CMC-University. We desire to show God's love to
the parents and loved ones of these babies in their time of uncertainty.
Perhaps those who are experiencing incomprehensible pain may know a peace and
serenity that extends beyond the situation.
We want to simply be there to bring the unspoken message of God's presence and
His infinite love and compassion. As Christians, we are all given a gift and are
expected to develop and use it to collectively support and comfort one another.
Through all circumstances we serve God and he has been continually faithful,
providing all the necessities of this ministry as it grows.
We have regular meetings to complete packets, work on items, teach each other
and share ideas. All are welcome to join us in our efforts!
